Livelihood and Market Study at Bandarban

Objectives of the Study:

  • To identify the challenges/ obstacles of marketing products produced by ethnic minorities,  
  • To investigate external/internal factors that prevent ethnic minorities from engaging in business,
  • To explore the current system or mechanism regarding land ownership and its impact on livelihood options.
  • To find out the role of wholesale market in the Bandarban or bigger markets in other districts?
  • To explore the livelihood options for the ethnic minorities in the study area?
  • To explore the economic status of ethnic minorities.
Study area : Bandarban Sadar, Ruma, and Rowangchari of Bandarban hill district. Target Population: The extremely poor Adibashi (Indigenous), women-headed family members, and people with disability are expected to benefit from this proposed program at 6 unions under Bandarban subdistricts, 3 unions under Roangsori Sub-districts and Union under Ruma Sub-districts.
